Well, London here we are! Hard to believe I have been in this beautiful city for almost a month. It has been such a whirlwind of an adventure. My days have been busy, filled with school and exploring my new home. CAPA did such a wonderful job easing all of us into our schedules; they have been very attentive with anything any of us need. On our first Saturday here we were all taken on a bus tour of the city. It rained, classic London, but it was still great to get out and see the place we would be living for the next few months.

But let me back track…I am living in Kensington, like where Price William and Duchess Kate live, we are actually neighbors. I wish! I live in a flat, or an apartment with 4 other girls all from different states. We have a full kitchen and a washer and dryer (which one of my flatmates broke the first time she used it). Thankfully we have a housekeeper that comes once a week so we don’t have to worry about adding deep cleaning our flat to our list of things to do. As for travel, public transportation and walking is how we get around. The tube has slowly become easier to understand. Now the bus system on the other hand, I don’t think I will ever learn. The app City Mapper has saved my life more times than I can count! My flatmates and I have been perfect tourists.
We have been to Stonehenge and Bath, gone to the outdoor markets, taken a ride on the London Eye and gone shopping on Oxford Street. Stonehenge was a little anticlimactic, but it was one of those touristy things we just had to do. Bath on the other hand was amazing. I’ve decided that you could move to Bath and disappear from the world and no one would know where to look. It is a quiet little town outside London rooted in so much history and the architecture was beautiful.

Oh and how could I forget the day we spent at the Harry Potter Studios. Honestly, I thought that being behind the scenes would take a little of the magic away from the series, but it didn’t and we had a wonderful time! There is so much that went into the movies that I never even dreamed was possible. They have all of the props and rooms of Hogwarts and each piece of clothing everyone wore. So if you ever find yourself in London jump on the Harry Potter bus and spend a day in Hogwarts.
