A weekend in Paris!

One of the perks of studying abroad in Europe is that everything is so close together and its pretty easy to find cheap flights to other countries! I have a lot of trips planned leaving Málaga in the next month and I am so excited! A few friends from my program and I flew to Paris for the weekend to meet up with a friend of mine from High School. We got their Thursday night and stayed until Sunday so we had 2 full days in the city. On Friday we got up sort of early and took a train out to Versailles. Its a pretty quick and easy journey. We spent some time walking around the palace and it was so beautiful! My favorite part was the hall of mirrors because it was really pretty. Then we went to the Eiffel Tower to take pictures and went shopping on the Champs Élysees. In the evening we went to the top of the Eiffel Tower but the weather was really very rainy and windy and cold, so the views weren’t all that great but it was still a cool thing to see! On Saturday we got up early and went to the Louvre for a few hours. The line was really long to get in but it we didn’t actually have to wait for as long as we thought. We roamed around for a little bit but honestly the Louvre is so big that you really can’t see everything. We saw the Mona Lisa and I had heard that it is pretty underwhelming and honestly it was but thats okay because I got to see it! After that we went to the Arch de Triomphe which is at the end of the Champs Élysses and did a little more shopping and went to Ladurée for Macaroons. Then we went to went to Notre Dame Cathedral. I got to go to mass in Notre Dame which was really cool too, though I didn’t understand a word of it because it was in French. Being in France was really interesting because it was the first country I’ve traveled to that I didn’t understand the language. It as a struggle but it was really interesting to, trying to pick up a few words and phrases. It was a very quick trip but it was so worth it and it was the perfect amount of time! We also walked over to the Moulin Rouge which was near the Air B&B!
