A Weekend in Switzerland

on

Last weekend I had the amazing opportunity to travel to the breathtaking town of Interlaken, Switzerland! I can honestly say that this is the most beautiful place I have ever been. Every turn, I found myself in awe of the crystal blue river, the serenity of the alps, and the adorable town. I went on this trip 4 of my friends here, Andrew (my boyfriend), and his 4 roommates. Here is a group photo!

The highlight of the trip was definitely canyoning. I had never heard of canyoning until this trip, but it was one of the coolest experiences I’ve ever taken part it! It’s basically a super thrilling way to climb through a canyon. We started by rappelling down a 150 foot (!) canyon wall. This was INSANELY scary for me since I have a fear of heights, but it was so worth it in the end! Here’s a picture of me and favorite roommate Alex rappelling!

After the rappel, we climbed, zip lined, cliff jumped, and slid through the rest of the canyon. It was honestly a once in a lifetime experience. I’ll attach the link to a highlight video here where you can see some of the things we did below!

Apart from canyoning, I also went kayaking on the river which was so beautiful. I had some amazing Swiss chocolate and fondue. Another highlight was a sunrise hike that I did with my friends. Seeing the sunrise in the Swiss Alps is definitely a sight I will never forget. Here’s a picture!

I’m still can’t believe that a weekend like this is a typical weekend of traveling while here in Florence. This trip has definitely given me a travel bug, and I have trips planned to the French Riveria and the Almalfi Coast already! I will never forget last weekend in Switzerland and I’m so grateful I have the opportunity to see the world like I am now!
