This weekend we visited the beautiful water town of Venice. My mom and my best friend and her mom joined me and it was so much fun to have them there. We stayed in an AirBNB in the Giardini area, which was beautiful.
The AirBNB owner gave us the best restaurant recommendation! It was called Nevodi, which means nephews. We ended up eating there 2 nights in a row. Our favorite dish was the ravioli , but here is a photo of the delicious appetizers.
We also visited islands separate from Venice by using the water bus. We went to Murano, Burano, and Lido. Murano is known for their gorgeous handmade glass. Burano is another island (their similar names can get a little confusing) known for intricate lace. The island is also filled with brightly colored buildings.
Lastly, we went to Lido, which is a quaint island with a large beach. There is also shopping and food, but we spent the majority of the day relaxing on the beach. We loved Lido!
Venice is an amazing city with rich history. We even went to visit the Cathedral where Saint Mark’s remains are buried.
We got so carried away in this town, we almost missed our train back to Florence! Thankfully, we found a water taxi in the nick of time.
Ciao to beautiful Venezia!
