It’s Sunday, which means another free day of doing whatever we want! Today my roommate and I decided that we would brave the looming rainy forecast and take a trip to Positano and Sorrento. Sadly, the latter half just didn’t end up working out, but we spent a lovely day in one of the most famous cities along the Amalfi coast!
With just my luck, it started pouring the second we got off the ferry and arrived in Positano, so we quickly ducked into a nice restaurant for lunch. Nothing like a nice big plate of pasta to wash our rainy day worries away! Nicknamed the “vertical city” the hills in this place are no joke! On a day that isn’t pouring rain I would love to spend a few hours in one of the many rooftop terrace restaurants lining the hilltops that overlook the coast.
After sticking out the rain and a seemingly endless staircase, we made it up to the very tippity top of Positano. The views definitely make up for the pain my calves are going to be in tomorrow (insert laugh cry emoji here). It’s hard to believe that places like this actually exist, and don’t just belong on a postcard!
Like I said before, Sorrento sadly did not quite make the itinerary today after an unsuccessful trip to find the bus station. While I usually consider myself to fair pretty well at finding my way in new places, it apparently was just not in the cards for today. All in all, it was probably for the best considering the indecisive weather conditions. Thus, Sorrento will commence on another day!
Now before I wrap up this post, my roommate and I have been CRAVING caprese salad the entirety of the 2 weeks we’ve been here so far and tomorrow is the day that it will be satisfied. After revealing to our host mom our ravaged appetite for this wonderous pairing of fresh mozzarella, ripe tomatoes, and sweet basil, she told us that it would be waiting for us on the dinner table tomorrow. Stay tuned for updates to come!
Ciao a tutti!
