A perfect weekend in London

This past weekend, my flatmates and I decided to do a bunch of activities in England. Firstly, we got to go to the Royal Ascot. The Royal Ascot can be compared to the Kentucky Derby. It was about an hour from London. Of course, it was also one of the hottest days of the year for London. We decided to get up and get ready for the day. We each had long dresses with a big hat to really fit in. Once we got there, it was amazing. Everyone’s outfits were so fancy and the hats were so fun! Once we got settled we saw about three races, one of which I just had to bet on. The horse I bet on was Prosperous Voyage, he was number 8. He almost won, which was crazy since I just picked a random horse. This past Saturday, we booked a train to Brighton so we could actually be on a beach and get some sun. We had to wake up extremely early to get there, which was about an hour on the train. Once we got there we explored the town of Brighton, which was really pretty. They had smaller unique restaurants and unique shops as well. Of course, we had to do some shopping. Once we got to the beach we realized that it was a pebble beach, not a sand beach, which is kind of odd. We picked the perfect day to go as it wasn’t too hot or cold. On Sunday, I went to Jack the Ripper Museum. Since I got here I have been dying to go to either a tour or museum of his. I am a criminal justice major so it was right up my alley. Once we got there, I felt like I learned a lot about what had happened and it was interesting back then to see what their criminal investigations were like. Overall this weekend, was one of my favorites being in London. I am so beyond sad that we leave in less than two weeks.
